Additional processing after product import

I am importing products from a large multi-vendor shopify site – over 16,000 products with roughly 700 vendors.
The product import works fine, but while I can import by vendor, the vendor details are not saved as metadata on the imported products. For each product imported I need to be able to set the correct vendor on the woocommerce site, and make that vendor the author of the product so that they can edit it in future.
Are there any action hooks available following a product import (or could action hooks be added in), which would allow me to run additional processing on the saved data? Failing that, can the vendor data be saved as metadata on the WooCommerce products so that I can itterate over them and correctly assign products to vendors?
