Currency switcher adds currency to URL

Hi,

Currently have the currency switcher setup on a website which has US and IT languages.

Using TranslatePress for the translation and the currency switcher is setup to sort out prices accordingly which is working fine.

My main issue is that links to alternative pages (from IT to US and vise versa) has the wmc-currency URL parameter which creates issues for multi language pages:

Is there a way to simply switch off this automatic parameter addition.

Currencies already work great as each language has a different currency already, so I do not need this.
