general seettings vs. global attributes

Hello support team of villatheme,
I have changed the default design for two seperate attributes for testing. Then I hit the button “remove” but have got a message that the last entry is not deletable. Then I deleted everything manually. But there wasn’t a fallback to the general settings for these two attributes. So: Is it right when I once have “touched” an attribut, I always have to handle the swatches settings for this attribut seperatly?
