Adding a field from user / customer meta data

Hi there,

I would like to add a “business ID number” for each user / customer to my order emails.
This business ID number will be taken from a user meta data field – either using one of the social media URL fields in a user profile, or by creating a new custom field for users, and pulling from that.

What is the best way to achieve this? Can you please provide an example.
