Change the currency by default

The plugin configuration is made by default in $ dollars, but in the frontend by default it is in pounds sterling. Nor can you change the currency from the frontend. We have checked the configuration and everything seems correct; We have assigned Euros to European countries. Dollars to the US and British pounds to the UK. When we installed it it worked but at some point it stopped working and we did not find the error.
