Issue with Zero-Value Orders – Checkout Fails and Emails Not Sent

I hope this message finds you well.

We are currently experiencing a critical issue with your plugin WooCommerce Email Template Customizer.

When a customer proceeds to checkout with a cart total of €0—whether through the use of coupons, gift cards, or by ordering a free product—the checkout process fails. After clicking the “Place Order” button, nothing happens for an extended period, and eventually an error appears.

Despite this, the order is created and visible in the WooCommerce backend. However, no order confirmation email is sent to the customer, and we as store admins also do not receive any email notification.

We have thoroughly tested this behavior, and it only occurs when your plugin is active. Once we deactivate WooCommerce Email Template Customizer, zero-value orders process normally, and emails are sent as expected.

Could you please investigate this issue and provide a solution or workaround?
