Unknown Truth TarotParticipantHello, I’ve imported an item from an AliExpress vendor several months ago. That item was an orgone pyramid and it had dozens of options/variations to choose from in terms of which pyramid you could choose from.
Upon import, I split that item into different simple items in my store.
Since then, the name of the store has changed (and that’s not reflected in my AliExpress dropshipping plugin). Which is no big deal.
The real problem is this…
It looks like the AliExpress vendor has also changed the product I imported by either adding more options to choose from, or they’ve reorganized how they had those options on their store. Because now, every single one of the simple products I have in my store (created by splitting that into separate products during import) are all pointing to the wrong item on the AliExpress vendor’s store.
For example, a customer of mine ordered a pyramid from my website, but they received a light up base for a pyramid.
When I looked into what happened and why they got the wrong item, I found that the product in my store no longer matches up with the product on the AliExpress store. Meaning, in my WooCommerce store’s edit product page for that item, on the Product Data > General Tab, under AliExpress Original Variation… that is no longer matching up to the variation the AliExpress vendor has on his store page.
So the pyramids (as individual simple products) are no longer matching up with the correct variation on the vendor’s store. Literally all of them are no longer matching.
For example, during my original import of this item into my store, one of the variations was turned into a simple product that is tied to the original variation of “tiger eye 01”, but now, on the AliExpress vendor’s store, that same variation is now listed as “tiger eye 12” and “tiger eye 01” is now a completely different pyramid than it was when I originally imported the item. So all of the simple products that were created in my store by splitting by variation during import… they’re all pointing the incorrect variation now.
That particular item has around 38 variations, and all of those have been split into individual simple products in my store (by using split by variation) during the original import.
I’ve tried to sync those items, but that doesn’t change which variation each of my items points to.
What can I do to correct each of my simple items so they point to the correct variation on the AliExpress vendor’s store?
I do NOT want to delete all 38 of those products from my store and then go through all the work of having to reimport, separate those into individual items, and then rewrite a title and description, etc for each of those. Plus, those product pages in my store have already been indexed by Google are getting search traffic. So I do NOT want to mess that up either.
Is there a way to manually adjust which variation each of my products is pointing to so my customers get the correct item they order on my website?
You can find these products in the Imported list of my AliExpress Dropshipping plugin. They’re on page 4 of 10 from a vendor store called “Fishing Day Store”. 2 prime examples are the last 2 pyramids on page 4 of 10. If you look at the product imported into WooCommerce, you’ll see the original AliExpress variation dropdown box only has 1 option, and that option is wrong when you match it up to the vendor’s store page.
It’s like that will all the variations of that item.
So I need to be able to change that on each of the variations without having to delete the product page from my store.
