Product pre order for woocommerce plug in settings

Hello

I sell variable products, some variations are in stock and some variations are on pre-order.

In the wordpress back office > products > product variation
If I tick the “pre-order” box for a variation that is in stock, the product page shows the pre-order message and the pre-order button instead of the ordinary text and button.

I would like to automatically enable the pre-order mode when a variation becomes out of stock, but not before.

Is that possible ?
