Real time email capture on Checkout page?

Dear Support,

Does the plugin capture email addresses in real time on the checkout page?

Let’s assume that it is the first time for a site visitor to enter her/his email address on the checkout page (no add-to-cart pop-up) but then does not complete the checkout, does this still trigger an abandoned cart email sequence?
