Rounding up causing Conversion to stop working

Please could you advise how we can round up places on converted currency pricing. We have attempted to use the price format options under settings using the fraction part but this then prevents our prices from converting altogether. We’re just looking to round up anything from 0.01 cents to 0.99 to a fixed decimal placing for .99 or to the next whole number.
