Urgent Issue – SMS sending to landlines

Hello,

We have had some very angry customers recently calling us shouting abuse because they are receiving phone calls from us because the abandoned cart system is not identifying phone numbers which are landlines. This is really basic functionality and I’d have assumed it would already do this. In the UK the only type of numbers which should be receiving SMS messages are those which begin with 07 (or 7 because you’re cutting off the 0 at the beginning) or +447 if they have entered their mobile number in international format.

All other numbers should not be receiving SMS messages.

This is a major issue because the SMS messages sent to landlines are causing an automated phone call which then reads out the sms. It’s calling a separate call too for every max character length per sms.
