Change of product image setting ignored

Hi,
I the swatches setting for a certain attribute you can set the “change product image” to “not change”. This seem to be ignored when used together with “display type” set to “variation image”. It changes the product image anyway.

I have another attribute where “display type” is set to “image” and there it seemt to work just fine. Here it doesn’t change the product image.

How can I solve this?
