Change variation image

Im currently setting up a demo for a new customer to purchase a second license.
But i cant get the change image working.

i checked the FAQ but this doesnt help:
– How To Change Product Image After Selecting Single Attribute?
– Why don’t swatches change like configured in the back end?

I have setup a test product with 2 colors.
in the product itself i have assigned 2 images to the color attributes
In the global settings i have the option “change to image set for attribute” enabled.
But when you switch colors the image doesnt change.
