Do pre-orders really match with variable products ?

Hello from France,
Thanks for your “pre-orders plugin”. Though, I don’t manage to get possibility of pre-orders with variable products. It seems to work fine with “simple products”, not with variable ones.
Maybe I failed to read relevant information earlier ?
