Dropdown Product list and button or radio on Product page

Hello,

1. Please help, I need to show a dropdown on the Catalog(Product list) and a radio or buttons of variations on the product page. The problem is that the dropdown on the product page has some problems, when I click on dropdown selector, the options are hidden or behind the price block.
2. Can you tell me how the Display type works? I dont see any diference between Horizontal and vertical.
3. As my page language is on cyrillic, when I pick a default value of variable on the product, it show me an ugly text.
4. How to disable the “Select an option” text as an option? I want the user pick only the variations I added, not an empty value.
