Problem with sending email

Hi

SMTP plugin keeps telling me that there was a problem sending un email, when I installed an email log plugin, it shows that abandonned cart emails are the problem.
Does that mean that the plugin is not taking into consideration the smtp settings ?
Here is the error message :

Mailer: Other SMTP
PHPMailer was able to connect to SMTP server but failed while trying to send an email.
