Cross-Sell bundle shows selected variation attribute for other simple products

When we have a Cross-Sell bundle with the main simple product, one variable product and another simple product the selected variation attribute for the variable product (e.g. color) is added to the simple product as well.

This is only happening when the variable product is listed before the simple product. If the variable product is the last product of the bundle it’s working fine.

Reproduce:
Create cross-sell bundle. Add a variable product first, then add a simple product. Place order for the bundle. Check the order confirmation and/or order in backend to see variation attribute for simple product.
